Chrissy Teigen's Hawaiian Pizza Jalapeno Poppers

Before Chrissy Teigen owned the celebrity cook book game with her bestseller Cravings, she was posting drool-worthy recipes to her food blog So Delushious. These Hawaiian pizza poppers are an easy taste of the recipes that have made Chrissy the current celebrity chef to beat!

Chrissy Teigen's Hawaiian Pizza Jalapeno Poppers


8 medium jalapeño peppers

20 pieces thinly sliced deli ham (about 1/2 pound)

4 ounces cream cheese, at room temperature

3/4 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

2 scallions (green parts only), sliced

¼ cup chopped cooked bacon (4 slices)

1⁄4 cup chopped fresh pineapple plus 8 (1-inch) cubes pineapple

1 large clove garlic, minced

¼ teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

8 cherry or grape tomatoes (red or yellow are fine)

Special EQUIPMENT: 6 long wooden toothpicks, soaked in hot water for 10 minutes


Preheat the oven to 425°F. Line a baking sheet with foil.

Halve the jalapeños lengthwise and discard the seeds and ribs.

Finely chop 4 slices of the ham and place them in a medium bowl. Add the cream cheese, mozzarella, scallion greens, bacon, chopped pineapple, garlic, salt, and black pepper and combine.

Fill each jalapeño half with a heaping tablespoon of the filling. Fold each ham slice in half and wrap each filled jalapeno half with the ham. Skewer a toothpick with a pineapple cube or tomato (so you’ll have 8 of each), then skewer it through the wrapped jalapenos.

Arrange the poppers on the lined baking sheet and bake until the cheese is bubbling and the jalapenos are softened, about 20 minutes. Serve hot.
